Why can’t I find my employer?

Can’t find your employer? Make sure you’re using the full registered company name or company number.

If your employer isn’t showing up, it’s almost always because the name entered doesn’t match the registered company name.

Our system includes all UK limited companies, so your employer will be there under its official name.

What this means

You need to search using the full legal name, not the brand or trading name.

For example:

  • You might know the company as “Tesco”

  • But the registered name is “Tesco PLC”

Searching just “Tesco” may not return the correct result.

What to try

  • Enter the full registered name (including “Ltd”, “Limited”, or “PLC”)

  • Avoid shortened or branded names

  • Check spelling carefully

  • Try searching using the company number instead

Using the company number is often the quickest and most reliable way to find the correct result.

Not sure what your employer’s registered name is?

You can usually find it in a few common places:

  • The footer of your company’s website

  • The terms and conditions or legal pages

  • Your employment contract or official documents

If you’re still unsure, just ask a member of your team or your employer directly.
