Why has the tenant asked me to support their application?

Why a tenant may need a Responsible Third Party and what it means for you.

Why your support has been requested

Some applicants may not fully meet Rentmigo's underwriting criteria on the strength of their own financial profile alone. This is common for certain applicant types, such as students, where personal income may be limited.

By providing your financial documents, you are giving Rentmigo additional evidence of a credible layer of financial support behind the tenant. This can help an application that might otherwise be declined.

Does this mean the tenant has poor finances?

Not necessarily. Needing a Responsible Third Party does not mean the tenant is a financial risk. It simply means that additional supporting evidence is needed to meet the underwriting criteria for the guarantee to be issued. The Rentmigo platform will make it clear to the tenant during the application process if an RTP is required.

What you are not being asked to do

You are not being asked to guarantee the rent, sign any agreement, or take on any financial responsibility. You are being asked to provide documentation only.
