What tenant referencing does

Traditional tenant referencing assesses whether a tenant is likely to be a reliable occupier. It typically involves a credit check, employment verification, and a previous landlord reference. It gives you information to help you decide whether to accept a tenant, but it does not provide any financial protection if things go wrong.

What Rentmigo does

Rentmigo goes beyond referencing. We carry out a full financial and risk assessment, and if the tenant meets our underwriting criteria, we issue a guarantee that provides you with direct financial protection against unpaid rent.

They are not the same thing

Referencing is informational. A Rentmigo guarantee is contractual. If a referenced tenant stops paying rent, you have no recourse through the referencing provider. If a Rentmigo-guaranteed tenant stops paying rent, you have a defined claim route and Rentmigo pays you.

Does Rentmigo replace your referencing process?

No. Rentmigo sits alongside your existing referencing process as an additional option for tenants who need a guarantor. Your referencing, rent collection, and day-to-day tenancy management remain unchanged.
