Rentmigo is not a deposit alternative or deposit replacement scheme. The two products serve different purposes and protect against different risks.
What deposit alternatives do
Deposit alternative products typically replace or reduce the upfront tenancy deposit paid at the start of a tenancy. They generally protect the landlord against end-of-tenancy costs such as property damage or cleaning.
What Rentmigo does
Rentmigo provides a rent guarantee. Our product specifically covers unpaid rent, up to the coverage cap defined in the guarantee terms. It does not replace the tenancy deposit.
Can a landlord require both?
Yes. Landlords may still require a deposit in addition to a Rentmigo guarantee. The two products are not interchangeable.
