Identity
All applicants must provide:
A valid government-issued photo ID (passport, visa, or driving licence)
A biometric selfie for identity confirmation
Income and employment
The documentation required depends on your employment type:
Employed (UK-based): In most cases, your income can be verified automatically through open banking. If this is not possible, you may be asked to upload recent payslips or an employment contract.
Employed (international or new starter): You will typically need to upload payslips or an employment contract. Your employer may also be verified as part of the assessment.
Self-employed: You will need to provide your most recent tax return (no older than 18 months) and at least six months of continuous business bank statements.
Student: You will need to verify your university enrolment via your academic email address and provide evidence of funding, such as a student loan confirmation, scholarship letter, or award letter.
Benefits income: This can usually be identified through open banking.
If a Responsible Third Party is supporting your application
They will need to provide their own documentation separately, including three months of bank statements. See our Responsible Third Party articles for full details.
A note on document quality
All uploaded documents pass through our fraud detection and document verification checks. Please ensure documents are clear, unedited, and in their original format. Documents that show signs of tampering or inconsistency may delay your application.
