Standard duration
Your guarantee covers your tenancy for up to 3 years from the start date stated on your guarantee certificate.
What determines the duration
The length of your guarantee is linked to the tenancy term set out in your tripartite agreement. The guarantee runs concurrently with the agreement, both starting and ending on the same dates.
Your guarantee is tied to your tenancy and property
Your guarantee only applies to the specific tenancy, property, and landlord named in your tripartite agreement. If you leave the property or your tenancy ends for any reason, your guarantee ends at the same time. It does not carry over to a new property or a new tenancy.
If you move to a new property, you would need to apply for a new guarantee.
What happens when it expires
When your guarantee reaches the end of its term, coverage ceases. If your tenancy continues beyond the guaranteed period, you would need to apply for a new guarantee to maintain coverage.
